The Irish have always prided themselves on the warmth of their welcome and are rightly famed for making visitors feel at home. And as one of the safest counties in the world, they provide an environment where security is taken as read.

Universities all have formal integration programs in place, making sure that all Study Abroad guests settle in quickly and easily.

Not convinced? Here are some of the best reasons to come to Ireland if you want to study abroad:

Rooted in the past, focused on the future.

The romantic image of Ireland is still very much alive and well. But side-by-side with it sits a modern European nation that is a magnet for both financial services and I.T., with most of the biggest companies/brands in the world having their European HQ there. With one of the youngest and best-educated workforces in the world, they are also a major innovation hub and a breeding ground for new start-ups and for Research & Development.

Working in Ireland

International students engaged in full-time study of at least one year’s duration (on a course leading to a qualification which is recognised by the Irish Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science currently do not need a work permit to work in Ireland.

Stay back visas

The Irish government offers a one-year stay back visa for Bachelors graduates and up to two years for Masters graduates. Many international students stay in Ireland after finishing their studies and start their careers here.

Cost of Living

Compared to many other top-level universities around the world, Ireland has a reasonable cost of living. Dublin, Ireland’s capital city is the most expensive city to live in, but Irish cities are very cost-effective places to live compared with other popular study destinations, including the UK.

The estimated cost of living in Ireland for a student for one academic year is €7,000 to €12,000 per year. This includes rent, electricity, food, books, laundry and medicine, as well as travel passes and social expenses, but excludes tuition fees.
